Once upon a time, three little pig brothers lived with their mother in a small cottage in a countryside village. When they were old enough to live on their own, their mother gave each of them a bag of food, and told them to build sturdy homes, and never to open the door for strangers. The three siblings hugged their mother, then set off on their journey.

Page 2

The eldest pig liked to finish work quickly so he had time to play his flute. When he met a farmer carrying a load of straw, he asked for a big bundle, and put up his house in just one morning. The golden thatched roof looked cheerful, and he hung his flute by the front door, thinking this temporary shelter to block wind and rain was more than enough.

Page 3

The middle pig preferred singing and dancing over measuring and building. When he met a woodcutter carrying bundles of branches, he asked for a small cartload of them, and pieced them together into a wooden house. His home was sturdier than the straw house, but its joints were still loose. He figured he could fix it later, then ran off to play with his eldest brother.

Page 4

The youngest pig carefully studied the wind direction, the ground foundation, and the flow of water nearby. He traded work for bricks, mixed mortar, and laid each row of bricks neatly and straight. His two older brothers stopped by to laugh at him for taking so long, but the youngest pig stayed calm, and invited them to learn how to lay a brick properly, so they could all do a good job together next time.

Page 5

In the nearby woods lived a wolf who often wandered the village looking for food. When he smelled the scent of bread inside the straw house, the wolf knocked on the door and demanded to be let in. The eldest pig refused, so the wolf took a deep breath and blew so hard that the straw house sent straw flying all across the field, but the eldest pig managed to escape through the back door just in time.

Page 6

The eldest pig ran straight to the middle brother’s wooden house. The two siblings had barely shut the door when the wolf showed up, again demanding to be let inside. When they refused, the wolf puffed out his cheeks and blew once — the whole house shook. He blew a second time, and the wooden branches all came apart. The two little pigs managed to escape along a narrow path to the youngest brother’s brick house.

Page 7

The youngest brother opened the door to let his two older brothers in, then together they slid the bolt home, checked all the windows, and rang the brass bell to alert their neighbors. The wolf arrived, took a deep breath, and blew with all his might. The brick house did not topple at all. The wolf tried again, and only managed to send a few leaves in the garden flying up into the air.

Page 8

Unable to get in through the front door, the wolf climbed onto the roof and planned to slide down the chimney. The three little pigs heard the noise above them. Instead of setting a dangerous trap, they quickly put out the fire in the hearth, stretched a thick, sturdy net over the mouth of the fireplace, then opened the lid of the ash pit below. The wolf slid down, got tangled neatly in the net, and was not injured.

Page 9

Their neighbors all rushed over to the house. The wolf admitted he had been hungry for many days, and thought his strength let him take other people’s food for himself. The youngest pig said that hunger was a problem that could be solved, but threatening others and destroying their homes was wrong. The wolf had to help rebuild the two ruined houses before he could be given a meal.

Page 10

The wolf agreed. Under the guidance of a professional builder, the wolf used his strength to carry bricks, the eldest pig mixed mortar, the middle pig measured the building frames, and the youngest pig checked the foundations. Working together, they built three small cottages connected around a shared courtyard. The leftover straw was used to thatch a livestock pen, and the old branches were turned into a garden fence.

Page 11

As they worked, the two older pigs realized their youngest brother was not slow; he had spent that extra time to keep everyone safe. The youngest brother also learned that play and music made work feel lighter. The three of them agreed that next time, they would make a plan first, tackle the hard parts of building together, and then hold a concert to celebrate.

Page 12

The wolf kept his word, and got a job at the local brick kiln, where he used his strong lungs to stoke the fire from a safe distance. He paid back the building materials he had destroyed, learned to knock politely on doors, and never again demanded to enter anyone’s home. The villagers slowly came to trust him as they saw his consistent, lasting change over many months.

Page 13

The three little pigs invited their mother to come see their new housing area. Their mother was overjoyed to find every home was sturdy, had an emergency escape route, and an alarm bell. The eldest pig played his flute, the middle brother performed a dance, and the youngest laid out a spread of bread for the gathering. The wolf asked for permission to enter from the front gate, and was invited in to share the meal with everyone.

Page 14

From that day on, the three brothers opened a small workshop to teach people how to build safe, sturdy homes. They never looked down on anyone who did not know how to build; instead, they let every student try working with straw, wood, and bricks to understand their different uses. The wolf was in charge of transporting materials, and he always spoke honestly about his old mistakes to remind himself never to repeat them.

We learn that being careful and thorough helps keep us and our loved ones safe. Working together as a team makes every task easier. When we make a mistake, we should use our actions to make amends to earn acceptance, and always be open-hearted to people who are committed to changing for the better.
